Magnetic materials - characterization techniques - instrumentation

Magnetic materials play an important role in modern technology and society. There are three main areas of the market for magnetic materials: permanent magnets, soft magnets and magnetic recording. The global market for magnetic materials is over 30 billion of dollars. So, there is a constant need for precise characterization of their magnetic properties in research and industry laboratories. They are mainly produced in the form of bulk pieces, powders, patterned, micro- or nanoarrays and thin films.

Nowadays, many companies produce a survey of precise and proven instrumentation based on well-established characterization techniques to efficiently characterize a variety of sample magnetic materials: vibrating sample magnetometers, susceptometers/magnetometers, SQUID magnetometers, BH meters, AC/DC hysteresigraphs, coercimeters, pulsed field magnetometers, electromagnets, superconducting magnets, cryogen-free magnets, Helmholtz coils, capacitor discharge magnetizers, fluxmeters, Hall effect Gaussmeters, and magnetic calibration standards.
